Google Analytics method
First, you’ll want to install the Google Analytics code on your page (at the top of your page) so it tracks your pages statistics. Then you’ll download the script provided on the website and follow the instructions. Once you start getting clicks you’ll be able to see your results in the Google Analytics report page. Note that the statistics are quite restricted but they give you more than what Adsense currently does alone.

AdLogger
Lots of work is currently in progress in this project which is great. It’s currently open-source so you’re free to contribute to the project. There’s a interesting feature that this script offer and it’s the possibility to not show the Adsense banners when a specific visitor (tracked by IP) has clicked on the advertisement more than a specified amount of time. This is a great way to reduce the possibilities of click fraud. You can go check out a demo of the statistics at Demo. There isn’t currently much statistics been shown on the report pages but it’s only a matter of time before it starts getting big as many people are interested in this kind of script.

Gives a great deal of details about each and every click you get through your advertisement. I haven’t seen any tracker giving you that much information on Adsense and I’d recommand it to anyone who’s avid to make money online using Adsense. You are able to track keywords, referal domains, IP, ads format, the time, the page, what the ad is about, the link to this ad and even more. All the statistics are related to each other so you’re able to browse back and forth to know how everything went on which is pretty interesting to know. Being able to track pages which gives you the best results, you’ll be able to tweak them and work back on them to enhance them even more giving you bigger chances to high an higher CTR. I should also add that the interface is pretty intuitive for beginners.

NicheBOT’s AdSense Tracker
I haven’t had the chance to try this tracker but from what I’ve seen, it looks like their a limited amount of statistics. The tracker doesn’t give information about the keyword that were used in searches nor the entry pages which are in my opinion vital informations.

They offer a demo version in which you have a restricted access to the reports. Check it out at their page asRep Free Trial Version.
The script in itself is not pretty intuitive which makes it hard for someone starting out and it makes you lose a bit of time to learn it. I haven’t really tested it, there’s a demo page at Demo Page but I don’t understand how it works enough to get the statistics I want. I guess the programmer or designer should have thought about making it intuitive since it’s generally not hard to tell “Hey, you select that and then you click here!”. It is said to report the pages, the IPs, the ads format, the clicked ad url, the referrer page and domain and more.
Cost: 50$

There’s not many tricks you can use to get better results for adsense. Best one is to make sure your ad blends with the background and that you don’t have borders. Use your ads with some common sense and you should get good results.

The article which Falco85 has written is in my opinion, a good reference for everyone who’s starting is own “money generating stuff” online. Many come with the wrong mindset expecting to get amazing results from their ads without doing any work. You have to take making money as a business if you want it to work like a business.

The important idea is that you NEED to create unique content. The content should not only be unique but it must be good. If you’re just writing junk, no one will ever read it. Who reads junk anyway? Search engine might, but they are getting quite good a removing all those crappy websites.

Take your time to write your articles, no need to rush. It’s not by making more “light content” that you’ll get a good amount of steady visitors. By giving enough information to your visitors and showing them you take the time to actually review your articles, check for references, your visitors will see you as a good reference and might spread the word.

Resume: give them what they are looking for and they’ll give you what you’re looking for.

First of all, you will need a radical change of mind. Yes, stop thinking to make money from your sites and to rank well in the search engines. Your first and only aim must be to build a quality site, with quality and original content. You will need to add real value to your pages, and make your visitors happy to have found you. When evaluating your pages, you must say to yourself “would I be happy to see such a page? would I find valuable and good information? would I come back here to find more?”. Thus, you must think to your visitors. Stick in your mind that you must rank well in your visitors head, and not in the search engine rankings.
This is my golden rule.

If you are a webmaster, you inevitably know what is Overture, the service offered by Yahoo. It provides you the most important information you’d need to make money online: the top paying keywords. All you have to do is simply type some keywords you have on your website or think about writing on and it will tell you how much search using this keyword are done in a month (generally the last month). You can also get how much this keyword pays, in other words, if the keyword will give you a good reward or not. You can get words paying up to 15$+ for just one click, but don’t start getting all excited yet because those are quite rare and hard to get in a text…

The tool I use to get good keywords to use for each articles is located at http://www.pixelfast.com/overture/. It gives you a single page which contains both Overture and max bid (both by Yahoo), giving you a good view if the keyword is worth it or not.

So the idea now is to get keyword that pays and are getting searched quite often. When you have them, start writing GOOD articles about the subject so visitors get a good impression of your website + might find a good link in the Adsense. When those page are written, get Google Adsense on them and you’re up to some good money.
